From the excitement of South Beach to the charm of our small towns, from the year-round sun-kissed climate to the laidback southern hospitality, Florida continues to be one of the most sought destinations for motion picture and television production.

The Sunshine State’s entertainment industry has grown over the past decade for one reason: producers find everything they need in Florida. If you are considering bringing your project to Florida, we hope you will be pleased with our strong base of experienced producers and skilled production personnel. Our production infrastructure continues to grow with state-of-the-art studios and post-production facilities, soundstages and studios, equipment rental houses, talent and casting services, and a network of local film offices around the state.

Florida’s Office of Film & Entertainment is a division of the Department of Economic Opportunity, and it can answer all of your questions about applications for their Florida Film and Entertainment incentive program.

Entertainment Industry Financial Incentive Program

The Entertainment Industry Financial Incentive Program is a transferable tax credit that can be taken against corporate income or sales and use tax collected and remitted in Florida. The program is used to encourage the use of Florida as a site for filming, for the digital production of films and to develop and sustain the workforce and infrastructure for film, digital media and entertainment production. The tax creits are calculated as a percentage of each pre-certified project’s qualified Florida expenditures. The tax creit is awarded to the pre-certified production projects once they have completed their projects and after the Office of Film and Entertainment reviews their CPA audited receipts and final reports.
