COLLEGE OF CENTRAL FLORIDA

Citrus Campus is CF’s second-largest campus, offering baccalaureate and associate degrees, certificates, diplomas, and a variety of academic programs and support services. The Employer Connection includes; Student Interns, Job Opportunities, Corporate Training, and Program Development. The Citrus Campus, which moved to its current eighty-eight acre location in 1996, is centrally located in the county, houses a modern conference center, and adjoins the Withlacoochee State Forest.

The Citrus Campus offers a variety of programs from the new Digital Media, Nursing and Cyber Security programs to academic credit courses where students can earn an A.A. without leaving the Citrus County Campus.

Withlacoochee Technical College

Withlacoochee Technical College (WTC) is an adult postsecondary institution offering long-and short-term career and technical education programs. WTC serves adults and qualifying high school students sixteen years of age or older who are interested in technical education for employment purposes. WTC provides hands-on, workplace based training in state-of-the-art facilities with high tech equipment.

WTC prepares students for the ever changing way we repair vehicles, build buildings, provide health care and solve problems. Students are taught to embrace change and incorporate them into their education.

While at WTC students have the opportunity to earn industry credentials. One of the newest, and popular programs at WTC is Cyber Security certification.

Citrus County School District

The Citrus County School District is the public school district for Citrus County, Florida and was named one of thirteen school districts in the state designated as an Academically High Performing School District by the State of Florida.

The district serves the cities of Crystal River and Inverness and communities such as Beverly Hills, Citrus Springs, Floral City, Hernando, Holder, Homosassa, and Lecanto. The district is composed of eleven elementary schools, four middle schools, three high schools, a charter school and two alternative schools. Citrus County School District enrolled 15,307 students as of July 2016.

The district was just recognized with the Florida Healthy District Award, achieving silver status by promoting health and wellness for students and staff using the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) Coordinated School Health model. Citrus County also has private parochial school options and many quality daycares.

Our library system offers an innovative career-focused, skills-based curriculum, online private high school diploma course (Career Online High School), eight high-demand career certificates, ESL classes and reading programs for adults.
